Put it between a power source and whatever it powers, and it shows voltage, current, power and load resistance, the voltages on the USB data lines (D+ and D−), and running totals of charge (mAh) and energy (Wh), with a timer. ATORCH rates it for 3.6 to 32 V and up to 5.1 A. The totals are kept when the power goes off, so you can measure a power bank's charge in one session and its discharge in another.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has eight ports. In: a USB-A plug, a USB-C plug, a USB-C socket and a DC 5.5 mm barrel socket. Out: a USB-A socket, a USB-C socket and a DC 5.5 mm barrel plug. The eighth, a micro USB port, powers the meter on its own or takes a temperature probe. Between them they cover phones, power banks, USB-C laptops and chargers, USB lamps and fans, and DC adapters.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt can switch its output off at over-current, over-voltage or under-voltage limits you set, and when a charge has finished (power below a level you choose, for a time you choose). It only measures: any fast-charge negotiation happens between the charger and the device, and it doesn't ask a USB-C charger for a higher voltage on its own. The screen turns in 90° steps to suit how it sits on the bench.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWhat you can learn\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCompare the current drawn by a board while idle and while running a task, or watch how a device's power changes during charging. Voltage and current are readings at that moment; mAh and Wh are accumulated totals. Reset the totals before a fresh comparison and keep the test conditions the same.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eBefore connecting a load\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCheck the connector direction, supply voltage and load against the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/en.atorch.cn\/upload\/20241205143802.pdf\"\u003eUD18 manual\u003c\/a\u003e. The meter's rating is not a guarantee that your cable or device can carry the same current.
